Cocaine

Signs of cocaine toxicity include:

• hyperexcitement
• depression
• respiratory trouble
• seizures

If your pet has ingested cocaine, it is vital that you inform the veterinary staff.  This may be hard for the owners to admit, however proper treatment cannot be performed if the toxic substance is not identified. Cocaine is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract extremely rapidly and INDUCING VOMITING must be performed within minutes of the ingestion or it will be ineffective.  If your pet has ingested cocaine seek veterinary assistance immediately.
