If your dog has ingested these pills within the hour, I recommend that you induce vomiting. Give the dog 2 tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide orally, go slowly so that the dog swallows the peroxide rather than it just run out the side of it’s mouth. If you have a plastic syringe to help give the peroxide into the mouth slowly, this would be the best way to do this. If the dog does not vomit within 10 minutes, repeat the dose of peroxide once more. If the dog does not vomit at all, please go to your nearest veterinary emergency hopsital immediately. This medication at the dose that was ingested will cause the dog’s blood pressure to drop dangerously low. This is truly an emergency. If you notice any of the following signs, seek veterinary attention immediately; lethargy/weakness, ataxia (stumbling around), fainting and vomiting.
Check out our Home Remedies page where you will find a skunk shampoo you can make at home which does have those ingredients in it as well as a liquid dish soap. After you use this, I recommend getting a dog oatmeal shampoo to help soothe the skin and/or get a dog conditioner as well. These products can be found at any veterinary clinic or pet store.

My dog was stayed by a skunk. What else can we try for his itch? We tried hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
